Historical fiction is a great way to learn about history; it combines learning, a subject most kids hate, and a fun take on history. Under the Blood Red Sun, by graham Salisbury is one of my favorite historical fiction books. I like the adventurous feel and the overwhelming truth of the book. Also I love The 39 clues, by various authors, with it's hunt for clues and family versus family feel.
